To find out more about applying philosophy to your life, or helping others apply it to theirs, you might want to visit the website of the American Philosophical Practitioners Association, a non-profit educational corporation which anyone may join. Led by Lou Marinoff, author of the popular book "Plato, Not Prozac," their main focus is philosophical counselling, but they are involved in other activities as well.

The Society for Philosophical Inquiry is an organization co-founded by Chris Phillips, author of the book "Socrates Cafe." Its members are working to create "communities of philosophical inquiry", which they typically call "Socrates Cafés," at places like coffee houses, bookstores, libraries, hospices, senior centers, homless shelters, and prisons. In schools, they are encouraging the development of gatherings they refer to as "The Philosophers' Club." Their members are devoted to resuscitating the art and skill of Socratic philosophical inquiry.
